The guys behind VirtualBox are definitely working hard even on the run up to Christmas. Go to http://www.virtualbox.org/ and you can download v2.1.0 which includes experimental support for 64 bit guests running on 32 bit hosts. Also the networking is getting easier - which promises no manual bridging, which given the comments I've received on my quick guide would be a great improvement. Will be giving it a try later today ......
History I have to admit that I’m a browser laggard, I haven’t installed Google Chrome, and I was a late comer to upgrading from Firefox 2.x to Firefox 3.0. I wasn’t always like this. I actually used to pay for Opera rather than deal with Internet Explorer back in the days of Windows NT4 days. Recently I’ve been lazy. Firefox 2.x had all the stuff that I used to pay for in Opera; tabbed browsing, opening entire folders of favourites etc. So the following may not come as news to some people in terms ......
Just had a twitter conversation with a fellow developer and tester Ben Hall regarding Hyper-V Integration Services (think 'additions' or 'VMWare Tools' for Hyper-V) and the limitation that you have to be running Vista as a guest it has to be SP1 to support installation of Integration Services. If one of your aims is to test software/deployment on non-SP1 Vista that's a bit of a killer.
