Paul's Petrov Whiteboard [BizTalk, Enterprise Application Integration, Business Process Automation, SOA, .NET]

I've been off radar for a while for several reasons. First, I took vacation in the beginning of June and spent wonderful family time in Cocoa Beach, Florida visiting many places in and around Orlando and Space Coast including Kennedy Space Center and multiple theme parks. Florida was quite a pleasant difference after grayish Northwest weather.

After getting back I started flight training for the Private Pilot License. Flying an airplane has been my dream since the childhood and now it's becoming real. There's a lot of learning involved in the pilot training. Just look at the syllabus, it has everything: plane aerodynamic and control, engine operations, FAA rules and regulations, aircraft and equipment inspection standards, air traffic control, airspace and airport operations, aeronautical navigation, weather, etc.  I'm somewhat squeezed between keeping up with work schedule (release coming in August); flying frequently enough to develop and retain skills and absorbing all the material needed to pass the PPL test. It's hard on my schedule lest not forget I have a wife and two wonderful boys hungry for my attention as well. :)

I fly from Paine Field airport in Snohomish County (near Everett, North of Seattle). This is class D airspace tower controlled airport under the shelf of SeaTac class B airspace. The views are beautiful: Puget Sound, Whidbey Island, Mt. Baker, Mt Rainier. I have a lot of fun flying there and hope to get my ticket in the next 2-3 months.
