Technically Speaking All in on IT

windows7 Went to an amazing demonstration of Windows 7 today. The UI changes are very nice. Although they still stick to the mostly tired start menu on the right > start > programs, the taskbar UI has been given a complete make over. It is hard to describe the changes in words, but once you see it, you will immediately understand. Things like new alt+tab live preview and switching (even amongst tabs in IE), hot color highlighting, aero peek, applications grouping, JumpStart and other things. Unfortunately, the build given to the attendees is the build prior to the new TaskBar UI. This will be turned on in the beta 1 seeding. However, even though they wouldn't officially confirm it, a couple of MS Windows 7 team members gave me a knowing “look” :) when I asked if it could be turned on via the registry.
