Technically Speaking All in on IT

The vendor exhibition kicked off today at 6:00pm. I have always been curious why they have a “big to-do” at 6:00pm when the exhibit was already open from noon to 3:30pm? There isn’t any suspense or anticipation about what we are going to see, unless you count which appetizers they might server this time. The usual collection of suspects were there with the usual collection of swag to give away. Notable exceptions were Sybari (outdoor adventure equipment) and Sunbelt Software (tricked out custom chopper). Everything else, IMO, was been there, done that. TNT also gets a nod for hosting No Limit Texas Hold’em matches. I spent most of my time this year focusing in on the Microsoft stands. I had some really good conversations around LCS 2005, ISA Server, Exchange 2003 SP2 and IIS7. I must have entered about a gazillion drawings for prizes so we’ll see if my inbox gets lucky . . . I also won the “figure out why Exchange is broken” contest at the Zenprise booth. They had to be giving out one of the oddest pieces of swag: the USB hotplate\beverage warmer.
