I downloaded Vista 2008 Beta 2 a while back in the .img version (you want me to download HOW MANY 700 MB files to run it as a VPC? what-EVAR). I then proceeded to try Daemon Tools, Clone Drive, etc. But none of them would install on my laptop, even though they said they supported Vista.
Odd, I thought. Then I did a quick check and low-and-behold, my laptop came with the 64 bit version of Vista Ultimate, which many of those mounting apps won't support.
Saddened, I figured I'd have to start downloading those huge files...until I was reminded of that old saying "you can't see the forest for the trees" or however that goes.
I was talking with a buddy of mine who said "Well, can't you just burnt the image to a disc?"
GENIUS!
The tool he suggested is a freeware app called ImgBurn, which worked perfectly.
So yeah, I'm still not able to mount those other images, and I dno't really want to be burning discs everytime, but for now I'll put up with having to ditch my old friends for this new one.
