Long weekends are vastly deceiving. I cashed in an extra two days of holidays on Thursday and Friday of last week, to join up with the 3 day long weekend to make 5 days of non-working goodness. But here I am, Monday night, feeling like those 5 days have flown by, or I've jumped through a wormhole and came out 5 days later, or something like that.
Day 1 - 2: North Dakota Bound
We took a drive down to Grand Forks, ND on Thursday, staying overnight and coming back on Friday. The exchange rate is really good right now, so we took the opportunity to sample the fine American shopping experience. Americans have some awesome perks that we don't north of the border:
- Diet Pepsi Jazz
- Parmesan/Garlic Old Dutch Chips
- Cartoon Network (DESTROYS Teletoon or whatever we get up here)
- 120 KM/h speed limits
- Super Target (that store just rules)
- Mexican restaurants
Seriously though, the US needs to incorporate one and two dollar coins...this whole $1 bill thing blows.
Day 3: Recoup Day
It was a Saturday, which meant grocery shopping, cleaning, napping, etc.
Day 4 - 5: Football, Football, Football
Winnipeg got TROUNCED by Saskatchewan (Just as I predicted). I watched the game with some friends who are Bomber fans...good times, good times.
Calgary fed Edmonton their latest loss of the season (Just as I predicted). And Damon Allen achieved history by having the most passing yards in professional football while helping his team destroy Hamilton. They better put him up in the Pro Football Hall of Fame...awesome athlete.
You can slide in WoW, Madden 2007, and some books I'm reading in between there. Back to the grind tomorrow though.
