Next week is our community launch event for VS.NET 2005 and SQL Server 2005 to the user group. It was originally going to be another member doing it, but he had a family issue to take care of so the torch got passed to me.
I was aware that we'd have to come up with our own method of handing out the discs, and I knew that we weren't getting any money for food/drinks (the materials and training were it)....which is fine...but then I find out that the examples we're supposed to present are the same ones shown at the big launch events.
So...its going to be a re-hash of the event that they were already at, but with a different speaker? Me thinks I'll need to spice things up for my presentation...I'd like to do some discussion on language specific features, mobile development, the new data control features, and the difference in ASP.NET 2.0 from 1.1. But we'll see...I have all weekend to prep.
Every development office should have a slurpee machine...EVERY office...and there's no 7-11 downtown...grrr.
