Chris G. Williams Beware: I mix tech and personal interests here.

If you didn't make it to last night's Greater Charleston .NET User Group (GC.NUG) meeting, you really missed a good one. In addition to record attendance (40+ people!!), we had a great speaker (Jim Duffy), great pizza (A Dough Re Mi) and handed out over $1000 worth of .NET related giveaways!

Fran Chadwick spent a few minutes getting everyone up to speed on the 2 .NET Study Groups we're sponsoring. One for VB and one for C# for those of us interested in pursuing certification, or just to learn more about .NET.

The focus of Jim's presentation was Building a site with DotNetNuke 3.0, and he was great. Definitely one of the livelier presenters we've had so far. Jim is on the Core Team for DotNetNuke and spends a lot of his time travelling to different user communities and evangelizing the platform.

Our giveaways for the evening were provided courtesy of CoDe Magazine, ASP.NET Pro Magazine, O'Reilly, Pearson Education, Microsoft, Infragistics & SyncFusion! We couldn't do it without these guys and we appreciate their support.

We don't currently have anyone slated for our March meeting yet, but I'm working on getting a couple guys from the Compact Framework team to come down. The April meeting will feature Glen Gordon from Microsoft, and that should be a good one as well.

Also, if anyone (or their employer) would be interested in sponsoring pizza (or wings, etc...) for one of our upcoming meetings, please contact me for more information.
