You'll elevate your VB skills from expert to master in this high-level position ... possibly advancing to Software Architect and, ultimately, Systems Architect. As a technical lead, you'll have a chance to foster the professional growth of team members who will seek your expertise and guidance as you work together on the next generation of one of our signature solutions. This powerful commercial application has more than a million lines of code, which is constantly evolving to help our nonprofit clients maximize their fundraising efforts.

We are an advanced Microsoft shop utilizing Analysis Server,VB.Net and SQL Server ...­ and one of a select few ISVs that embed VBA into our exclusive products. Our program architecture is built on a rich object model exposed to VBA and any other COM clients via a documented API, utilizing an advanced OR mapping layer tuned for speed, flexibility and ease of use.

As a Senior Software Engineer you will:

  • Contribute input, insight and ideas to Software Architect and Systems Architect for product breakthroughs
  • Take hands-on approach as technical lead for designing and implementing complex modules and subsystems
  • Work with Software Architect to roadmap projects, prioritize issues and ensure deadlines are met
  • Mentor team members to enhance their application development techniques and database implementation
  • Evaluate performance of key application elements fine-tune them to cover the range of customer use

  • Experience and Skills:
    We will consider only candidates who have:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • At least five years in packaged commercial software development
  • Complete understanding of COM or .NET (C++ in a commercial application environment acceptable)
  • One year experience leading mid-sized teams and serving as technical lead
  • An enthusiastic work ethic and the discipline to prioritize and manage multiple tasksBusiness Intelligence

    Preferred Experience:
    We will give priority consideration to candidates who have a Master's degree. Any experience working with or for nonprofit organizations also is a big plus.
