News FAQ on the correct forum to post at:

I have started reading Pro ASP.NET 4 in VB 2010 (ISBN 978-1-4302-2511-9). While I will be returning to this book later, I would like to point out one particular topic "Accessing the HTTP Context in Another Class". The particular context is that of accessing Trace.

Whilst this would seem a trivial piece of code, it saves passing the context, when calling a function as the function can get access to HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress, HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables and other vital information. I commend the authors for publishing this tip, thereby putting this technique into the public domain.

My initial reaction, is that I am favourably impressed by this book as the topics covered will provide a thorough grounding in ASP.NET 4 with VB 2010. I look forward to reading the whole of this book.
