Hornet's Nest A few of Mike Hoerner's Favorite Topics

If you review some of my older blog articles, you will notice that we have seen some issues with Outlook 2003 in our mixed Exchange 2003/2010 environment.

Since Exchange 2010 supports Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010 and Microsoft Entourage 2008 for MAC, Web Services Edition, there are a few things you can do in advance with the different versions of Office as you prepare for your Exchange 2010 Deployment.

  1. I recommend that you read the article, Common Client Access Considerations for Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2010, by Will Duff on The Microsoft Exchange Team Blog.  Please pay extra attention to the Encryption section in the article and make sure your support teams are aware of it.
  2. Install the latest service packs for Office 2003 and 2007
    Office 2003 Service Pack 3
    Office 2007 Service Pack 2
  3. Install the latest release of Microsoft Office 2010.
